Christmas party is one of the most awaited events for the employees. It’s a time of celebration after 12 months of hard graft for all of them. As the boss, it’s your duty to make the affair an unforgettable one for all your employees. Here’s a quick checklist for an impeccable office Christmas party this year.
Set a budget:
As we always say, it should be the very first step of your party planning process. Set a budget and then plan everything accordingly. Stick to your budget and allocate different portions of it to the bookings, decorations, food and drinks. The best thing you can do is, hire an event planner who can plan a party as per your requirements in your budget.
Set a date:
It’s no brainer that you won’t be able to throw an office party for your employees on the 25th of December. You would rather have to find a date in early December to host your Christmas party. In fact, you can take suggestions from all your employees so as to find a suitable day for the event.
Send out the invitations:
Once you’ve decided the date for your office Christmas party, it’s time to extend the invitation to every member of staff. However, ensure that you do not force your employees to be a part of it. The ideal time to send out the party invitations is around a month before the party.
Consider ‘NOT’ having the party at office:
Though it’s an office party but it doesn’t necessary needs to be at the office. Let all your employees take a break from the ever so familiar professional surroundings. Book a venue that suits your budget and is spacious enough to accommodate all your employees. Make sure that you book it well on time!
Take care of any sort of dietary restrictions:
You would obviously not want any of your employees to end up in the hospital after the party. So, ensure that you know the dietary restrictions of all your employees well in advance and decide the menu accordingly. Further make sure that you arrange for a little more than what’ll be needed during the party. If you plan to serve alcohol, take care that none of your employees are drinking on a totally empty stomach. Consider arranging for plenty of nibbles and a smaller starter.
Ensure your guests are entertained:
Make solid arrangements to keep all your guests entertained. Plan on three to four games and activities to keep your guests enjoying throughout the party. You may even conduct a contest to stir the excitement levels of your employees and make the event a memorable one for them!
So, that’s all you need to have on your to-do list for throwing an awesome office Christmas party!
