Just a simple question before starting off with this article- Why do you need makeup?
Your answer would obviously be- To look flawless and enhance your beauty, right?
Well, it’s true, makeup was intended to accentuate the beauty of women. Especially when it comes to eye makeup, perfectly accentuated eyes tend to be mesmerising! However, if done wrong, it may actually work the other way around! Here’s a list of all the mistakes you need to avoid looking like someone you would never want to!
Choosing an inappropriate colour for your brows:
When you try to enhance your eyebrows with a colour that’s totally different from your brow colour, you may end up acquiring a hardened look. Your eyebrows would simply look unnatural if you opt for an inappropriate colour. So, consider choosing the right colour for your eyebrows unless you wish to look older than your age!
Not applying primer on your eyelids:
As a matter of fact, primer not only prevents creasing, but also holds liner in place. So, even if you are not going for a full eye makeup and plan to use only eyeliner, you should apply a thin layer of primer to your eyelid to keep it in place. Applying primer will help your eye makeup last longer than it usually does.
Using foundation or an inappropriate shade of concealer:
Firstly, foundation is not at all meant to hide those dark circles and eye bags, so just stop using it for your eye makeup right away. Next, use a concealer for this purpose but make sure that it has the same tone as your foundation that you’ll use on the rest of your face.
Curling your lashes after applying mascara:
Well, that’s a nasty thing to do! Curling your eyelashes after applying mascara would only leave you with mega clumped lashes and a clogged lash curler. So, it’s advisable to curl your gorgeous eyelashes before applying mascara in order to achieve the best results.
Applying eye liner before eye shadow:
This is the biggest and the most common mistake that women make. When you apply eye liner before eye shadow, you leave no room for the blending process. In order to achieve the perfect colour blend, you first need to apply eye shadow followed by the liner and mascara.
Misusing the makeup brushes:
There are rules for using all those brushes in your cutesy makeup kit. However, these rules are mostly ignored. Women often apply their eye shadow with a brush and then blend it with the same brush. Doing so creates a disaster over their lids rather than the beautiful blend they desire. So, it’s advisable to apply the eye shadow first and then blend it with some other clean blending brush.
Overdoing the eye liner and mascara:
You may love that darker and bolder eyeliner style but that’s not the way it should be done. Such a harsh eye makeup may just end up looking unnatural. So, try and keep it feminine. Pay attention to the natural shape and size of your eyes while applying the liner. Follow up with mascara. Apply just the exact amount. Avoid overdoing it if you do not want your makeup to look unnatural.
